Finding Vacancies
Our current vacancies are listed on this website and can be viewed by the type of role, e.g. Academic. If you wish to see all current vacancies, you can select the option to view them all.
How To Apply
Once you’ve found a role that’s a good fit for your skills and experience, click the Apply Online button within the job advert and you’ll be asked to register and set up an account on the site (Why do I have to register?) or log into the account you’ve already created. Be sure to provide an email address you use regularly, because that’s how we’ll keep in touch with you about your application.
If you do not have access to the internet, your application can be submitted to:
Human Resources
Bishop Grosseteste University
Lincoln
LN1 3DY
Please note that as we are an equal opportunities employer we do not accept CVs. For some vacancies, in addition to the application form being completed we do allow document upload detailing qualifications, research experience and publications.
Please email recruitment@bishopg.ac.uk if you need any assistance with the application process.
All applications must be received by the closing date.
Application Form
We request that all applicants apply for vacancies via the online application form. During the application process you’ll be asked a series of questions that you can answer on-line.
Application forms help to ensure that all applicants provide the information in the same format, enabling the selection panel to more easily compare the applications that they receive.
The online application form can be completed in stages and you can login/logout at any time. The form automatically saves as you enter your information and it is simple to move backwards and forwards within the form at any time prior to submission. Help is available at each stage to guide you through the form.
Before final submission, you can preview your application and can then choose to refine or submit the form.
Online applications will be accepted by the automated system until midnight on the closing date.
Postal applications are accepted if you do not have access to a computer. If you would like a paper application pack these are available from Human Resources, (please specify the post title and reference number). Please note the information sent to you will be exactly the same as the information on our website and you should allow sufficient time for the information to arrive with you. Your postal application will be scanned into our system.
If making a postal application, please submit:
- the application form (please specify the post title and post reference);
- any other documentation you wish to be considered by the Selection Panel;
- the Equal Opportunities form which will be kept in Human Resources and used only for registered purposes under all relevant Data Protection legislation from 2008 onwards, as per current law within the UK and international requirements.
Please note: The supporting statement section should set out how your qualifications, experience and training fit eachof the selection criteria. Please provide one or more paragraphs addressing each criterion. The supporting statement is an essential part of the selection process and thus a failure to provide this information will mean that the application will not be considered. An answer to any of the criteria such as “Please see attached CV” will not be considered acceptable.
Postal applications must be received by noon on the date of job closure, to allow the application to be scanned onto the website before the midnight deadline.
Applications should be sent to the Human Resources Department, Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln LN1 3DY.
After Applying
Once you have submitted your application, you will see in the 'My Applications' area, that the status of your application will be "submitted" and it will also show the date of submission.
The following day, you will receive an acknowledgment email.
After Closing Date
The selection panel will assess all applicants against the requirements of the job description and person specification and then notify Human Resources of their decision.
Human Resources will then contact the applicants as appropriate.
