This is a full-time, permanent position.

Bishop Grosseteste University is based in the historic uphill area of the city, just a ten-minute walk away from the castle and cathedral and a range of other cultural and historical attractions. BGU has been awarded a Gold Teaching Excellence Framework Award for its teaching and learning and the unique and positive experience we offer our students is well recognised and evidenced through such key achievements. This is an exciting time of expansion and growth for the institution and BGU will be able to provide you with the opportunity to develop your career and contribute to our ongoing success.

Bishop Grosseteste University is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Commercial Events Officer (Cinema & Performance Venue) who will work as part of the Conferencing and Events team to undertake a range of events duties across the University primarily focussed on leading commercial activities in and around the on-campus cinema and theatre.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing commercial activities through the delivery of events, performances, and cinema screenings. You will be a hands-on, people-orientated individual, with demonstrable influencing skills. It is essential that you will be a team player with the ability to engage collaboratively with staff, students and third parties, organise your own time effectively and have a flexible approach as the work demands will change.

This is an exciting time to join the events team and help develop the growth and future of an established cinema and theatre on campus. Whilst supporting the student and staff experience and engaging external stakeholders and the local community simultaneously.

Previous experience in delivering commercial activities is essential, and experience within an education setting would be desirable but not essential.  You will have excellent I.T. and communication skills and will be able to work on your own initiative.

BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:

  • 25 days holiday for Grades 1-6
  • 35 days holiday for Grades 7+
