This post represents an outstanding opportunity to lead the Archaeology Undergraduate and Heritage Postgraduate programmes at Bishop Grosseteste University. The post carries significant responsibilities and we are seeking an inspirational leader who can build upon the excellent course foundations, whilst contributing to Faculty aspirations to grow student numbers.

We seek to appoint a collegial, enthusiastic Programme Leader with a range of research and teaching expertise. The postholder will need a demonstrable passion for student recruitment activity, alongside a commitment to providing a first-class student experience. The successful candidate will lead and deliver on both undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, including the BA (Hons) Archaeology & History programme and the MA in Heritage Education. The post holder will also direct BGU’s Lincoln Archaeological Field School, a training excavation which recruits home and international students as well as volunteers. 

The University is on a leafy single-campus site in the historic uphill area of the city. This is some ten minutes’ walk away from the castle and cathedral and a range of other cultural and historical attractions. BGU has been awarded a Gold TEF award for its teaching and learning. This post is offered as a one-year fixed term teaching & scholarship contract and will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career and contribute to our ongoing success.
