Salary:   NMW/NLW
Closing Date:   Thursday 27 June 2019
Interview Date:   To be confirmed

Earn while you learn as a LiNCHigher Ambassador this summer!

LiNCHigher is a consortium of universities, colleges and organisations from across Lincolnshire who work together to provide outreach activities for young people. The project is funded by the Office for Students (OFS) and is known nationally as the National Collaborative Outreach Project (NCOP).

In 2017-18 LiNCHigher carried out more than 500 activities with more than 32,000 participant engagements and, with your help, we want to increase this in 2018-19.

LiNCHigher is looking to appoint a team of Ambassadors to support the work of the BGU-based team. Roles include;

  1. Outreach– assisting with activities in and out of schools (countywide)
    • Areas we cover: Lincoln, Gainsborough, Grantham, Boston, the East Coast and the south of the county
    • Giving presentations to share your story
  2. Data entry– inputting data into the EMWPREP database (based at BGU)
  3. Communications– supporting the team with social media, newsletters, displays and publications (based at BGU, occasionally county wide)
  4. Unibuddy mentoring – supporting and mentoring Year 12/13 students on an online platform to help with any questions about going into higher education.

In addition to being paid for your work there are a great range of benefits that come with being a LiNCHigher ambassador;

  • Great experience to put on your CV and an employment reference
  • Gain and enhance transferrable skills e.g. communication, team work, networking, administration, presentation
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Flexible hours to fit around your studies
  • Assist with a wide range of different activities
  • Have a positive influence on young people’s lives
  • Opportunity to attend relevant training courses
  • Socials throughout the year
  • Work that contributes to employability awards at your institution e.g. the Lincoln Award, BG Employability Award

This is an exciting and varied opportunity for highly motivated individuals to join a passionate, creative and hardworking team. No previous experience is necessary. Applicants should be enthusiastic, good communicators, demonstrate a willingness to get stuck in and be a team player.

We are looking for ambassadors based across the county and/or those who can travel. It would be an advantage if you attended secondary school in Lincolnshire. Shifts may be outside of normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
